چکیده

We report on the development of a high-resolution and highly efficient beamline for soft-X-ray resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) located at Taiwan Photon Source. This adopts an optical design that uses active grating monochromator (AGM) spectrometer (AGS) to implement energy compensation principle dispersion. Active gratings are utilized diminish defocus, coma higher-order aberrations as well decrease slope errors caused by thermal deformation polishing. The AGS is mounted rotatable granite platform enable momentum-resolved RIXS measurements with angle over wide range. Several high-precision instruments developed in house this briefly described. best resolution obtained from AGM-AGS was 12.4 meV 530 eV, achieving resolving power 42,000, while bandwidth incident soft X-rays kept 0.5 eV. To demonstrate scientific impacts RIXS, we present example high-temperature superconducting cuprate, La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$. reveal A$_{1g}$ apical oxygen phonons cuprates, opening new opportunity investigate coupling between these charge density waves.

Optical design of the Short Pulse Soft X-ray Spectroscopy beamline at the Advanced Photon Source

The Short Pulse X-ray facility planned for the Advanced Photon Source (APS) upgrade will provide two sectors with photon beams having picosecond pulse duration. The Short Pulse Soft X-ray Spectroscopy (SPSXS) beamline will cover the 150-2000 eV energy range using an APS bending magnet. SPSXS is designed to take full advantage of this new timing capability in addition to providing circular polar...

A soft X-ray free-electron laser beamline at SACLA: the light source, photon beamline and experimental station

The design and performance of a soft X-ray free-electron laser (FEL) beamline of the SPring-8 Compact free-electron LAser (SACLA) are described. The SPring-8 Compact SASE Source test accelerator, a prototype machine of SACLA, was relocated to the SACLA undulator hall for dedicated use for the soft X-ray FEL beamline. Since the accelerator is operated independently of the SACLA main linac that d...

The SPECIES beamline at the MAX IV Laboratory: a facility for soft X-ray RIXS and APXPS

SPECIES is an undulator-based soft X-ray beamline that replaced the old I511 beamline at the MAX II storage ring. SPECIES is aimed at high-resolution ambient-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (APXPS), near-edge X-ray absorption fine-structure (NEXAFS), X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) experiments. The beamline has two branches that use a c...

X-ray Interferometry Development at the Advanced Photon Source*

In this paper, we report initial test results of a four-bounce Bragg reflection Xray interferometer at 7.46 keV and, for the first time to our knowledge, at the higher energy of 14.91 keV where the spectral acceptance is much smaller. INTRODUCTION The triple Laue (LLL) interferometer is one of the most used X-ray interferometers, be it in ultra-precision metrology’ or in imaging techniques. The...
